I always get asked, "What should I bring Camping??" Well, we have a list here of some of the most important things that a scout
should bring on a campout. And, what he should NOT bring. Keep in mind, some of these items will depend on the weather and the
time of the year.
What To Bring
- Sleeping Bag (40deg unless cold weather)
- Pillow (I can't believe how many forget this)
- Field Uniform (Class 'A')
- Field Activity Uniform (Class 'B', T-Shirt, Shorts)
- Enough change of clothes for the outing
- Extra Socks
- Extra pair of Shoes
- Rain Gear (Poncho Wal-Mart)
- Appropriate hat (Scout hat)
- Personal hygiene (tooth brush & paste, soap, shampoo, etc...)
- Towel
- Drinking Cup / Water bottle (You must stay hydrated)
- Mess Kit (or plate, utensils)
- Flashlight (with extra batteries. LED are best)
- Compass
- Pocket Knife (If you have your Totin' Chip. See Scoutmaster)
- Bug Repellant
- Scout Handbook
- Camp Chair (You will NOT be using mine!!)
- A good attitude and a desire to have fun!!
What NOT to bring
- Electronic Devices (except for the ride to camp)
- Inappropriate clothing (nothing profane or derogatory)
- Sheath knives (all knives must be approved by adult leaders)
- Sodas of any kind (unless approved by adult leaders)
- Fireworks or explosives (you WILL be sent home)
- A bad attitude!!
